Yes, we know that tartan is not normally measured in cubic feet! But in this case, we’ve taking a couple years worth of kiltmaking tartan scraps, and stuffed them randomly into 12x12x12 boxes!
12 lbs. of assorted OUTLANDER tartan scraps! Approximately 18 yards of tartan!
How many yards is a pound of tartan? Going with an average of 10-11 ounces per linear yard, a pound of tartan is about 1 1/2 yards. So if you Frankenstein a 12 pound box of scraps together, you’ll have approximately 18 yards of tartan! That’s a lot!
Our OUTLANDER Homespun tartan sells for $40 per yard. So 18 yards would cost $720. Priced at $10 per pound, a box of scraps will only cost $120! A $600 savings!
