Jeweled Safety Sgian Dubh

Our Jeweled Safety Sgian Dubh gives you all the look and none of the edge. It’s hard to like a fake sgain dubh, but it’s a nice option to have if you know you are going to be somewhere that the real thing isn’t allowed. It’s worth mentioning that drunken groomsmen are less likely to get themselves into trouble if you have given them fakes! Find this Scottish toast on the back: “Here’s to the heath, the hill and the heather, The bonnet, the plaid, the kilt and the feather!” Made in Scotland with 5 different color tops available! Amethyst is typically in stock; other colors need to ship to us from Scotland.

The Scottish Thistle: The Legend and Meaning

Most people know and easily recognize the thistle as the symbol of Scotland. Researchers believe Scots chose the thistle as their first national flower.

Legend has it that a field of thistles saved a party of sleeping Scots warriors from an ambush by Norse invaders. When one of the Norse attackers trod on a thistle field with his bare feet, his cries and screams roused the Scots. The ambush became ineffective, and the Scots defeated the invaders. The Scots’ victory was all thanks to the thistle’s thorns! They then adopted the thistle as the symbol of Scotland. It represents the bravery, devotion, durability, strength, and determination of the Celtic people.

The description is apt, as I bought this for venues that may not allow a bladed weapon. My only suggestion is that a choice of jewel color be offered for the fashion conscious.
It is made in Scotland (important) and is inscribed with a lovely sentiment, flat on one side for easy placement, and overall looks very authentic.
