Wolf Penannular Brooch
A penannular brooch, or “Celtic brooch,” is often used for fastening fly plaids, aprons of ancient kilts, and other clothing. Featuring a popular historical wolf head design, this brooch is simple, practical, and versatile enough to make its way onto all of your outfits, whether for daily use or at your next Renaissance Fair! You won’t have to worry about fixing it throughout the day – this brooch is designed to be sturdy enough to hold down a heavy kilt, scarf, or other clothing items and to stay in place all day long. The only question now is whether you’ll pick bronze or sterling silver—or both!

John –
Great Kilt Brooch. Holds the plaid well and has a nice design. The bear’s head makes a good “lock” for the pin and holds it in place well.

Greg (verified owner) –
I got this brooch for my Feileadh Mòr/Great Kilt, because the my pin-style brooch was pulling the tartan, likely due to the weight of it (16 oz.). It is a bit of work to clasp this penannular brooch, due to the the heavy weight wool, but once closed, it is not causing pulls in the tartan. The brooch is solid and a heavy weight and I really like the design. As John mentioned previously, the head (wolf in my case) is great for locking the pin.
