Description
Celtic Hounds Pewter Kilt Belt Buckle
Inspired by the intricate dog illuminations found in the ninth century Book of Kells (also known as the Book of Columba or Iona). Hounds appeared throughout the legends of the pan-Gaelic culture of Highland Scotland and Ireland, such as the story of the ‘Hound of Ulster’. Celtic Hounds symbolize hunting, healing, and the Otherworld in Celtic legends. Hounds were the traditional guardian animals of roads and crossways and are believed to protect and guide lost souls in the Otherworld. The Scottish Deerhound and Irish Wolfhound, closely associated with these legends, are famous the world over.

This Celtic Hound kilt belt buckle is breathtaking. It is way more impressive in person than in the photos. I love it!
