Triquetra Claddagh Ring

This sterling silver rings combines the heart of the claddagh with the triquetra symbol. The claddagh is the Irish symbol of love and friendship.

Believed by many to be an ancient symbol of pre-Celtic and Celtic beliefs, the triple knot appears in various forms in pre-Celtic and Celtic Art with the earliest examples having been carved on pre-Celtic stone monuments, and later examples found in Celtic Christian art.

It is also believed that the triquetra represents the three faces of the Goddess (virgin, mother, crone) and was later adopted to represent The Holy Trinity.

What is a Triquetra?

The triquetra is a three leafed knot design that some know by the names trinity knot and trefoil knot. Trefoil means three-leafed. Many Celtic people wear or display objects with a triquetra motif in order to connect with, honor, and share their heritage. Celtic Christians also use the triquetra to symbolize the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Many of our products have this motif, and we use the symbol on our logo in order to easily identify us as a Celtic company.

    IRON MIKE

This ring was a companion piece to the Opal Claddagh that I bought my wife for Christmas. It’s easy to be Santa’s helper with a resource like Celtic Croft
