Medium Weight Premium Wool Handfasting Tartan
We make our Light Weight Premium Wool Handfasting from tartan made in Scotland. Handfasting is an ancient ritual that is where the term “Tying the Knot” came from. Handfasting is the historical term for “betrothal” or “wedding”. In the early modern history of Scotland (16th and 17th centuries), the term could also refer to the trial period of the first year of marriage. The term has, over time, also come to be used to denote non-legal commitment ceremonies.
