A minor complaint: I, too, broke a lace when first putting on the boot. I gave a light tug to snug up the lace and it broke. No big deal, as I was planning to buy a roll of lace anyway, but a little disconcerting when a lace breaks on the first fitting.

I wear a size 10 wide normally. I ordered these in size 11. The width is perfect. The toes are nearly perfect, also. I am 6′ tall with a 30″ inseam, the tops of the boots come to about 1″ below my knee. I bought them for my renn faire costume but they are so comfortable I might wear them under blue jeans from time to time.

While shipping was excellent the laces broke as I was lacing up one boot. Just the action of threading the laces had frayed them enough to break with just a little added tension (not even 1/4 the tension I would use to tighten regular laces). The boot seems to be ok, but I won’t be wearing them without laces.

The item was shipped promptly, my having received them in less than 7 days without requesting expedited shipping.
The boots are quite durable, and the flat soles are quite useful should you engage in physical activity such as dancing. The boots are a rather snug fit, so I would suggest getting the next size up so as to make it easier for you to get in/out of them.
The leather is quality material, and by comparison to other boots you most assuredly get your money’s worth! The only major thing to note is that because they’re suede you need to make sure you clean them regularly so as to prevent a deterioration in color, and avoid getting them wet as water will get through.

Not a bad boot at all if you get the black be prepared to have your skin turned black my hands instantly became black just putting them on and touching the lacing. Only thing I wish was different is the top of the boot would be open down towards the top of the foot and be the wrap around style like others I’ve seen on other websites to make it a bit easier for those of us with big feet to get them on .

These are great boots, very comfortable, and springy in the soles. Remember to get a size above yours if you wear a half size, as these conform right to your feet. They are suede inside and out and feel very nice in either hot or cold weather, and your feet will love your for them!
