We think of this design – a heart created by an interconnecting knot – as representing the continuity of everlasting love and the binding together or intertwining of two souls or spirits. Express your love for your significant other with the Celtic Heart Pendant!
Available in bronze and sterling silver, this pendant is 1 ½” by 1 ¼” (36 x 28 mm). It comes with an 18″ gold or silver-tone chain.
Celtic knots date back to at least the 5th century AD, and were used extensively by ancient monks in illuminated manuscripts such as the Book of Kells and Book of Durrows. The Celts did not record the meanings behind the designs they recreated, but scholars speculate that the symbols represented basic tenants of life, mankind and spirituality, while the continual looping of the designs suggests themes of eternity and interconnectedness.
