Dragon Blade Axe
Our customers love to use our Dragon Blade Axe for cosplaying, LARPing, or just decoration. This elegant, medieval fantasy weapon comes with a hidden blade that screws out of the handle. The dull blade keeps the lawyers happy. The comfortable, black cushion on the handle makes the weapon satisfying to hold. Some call this axe a labrys or double axe since it has two blades. The axe measures approximately 29.5″ long, and 12.5″ wide across the blades. The black, foam handle measures about 6.5″ long. One can wield it with two hands or single-handedly. The blades are dull and would make a great costume accessory or wall decoration.Â

What is a labrys?
Labrys is purportedly the Lydian word for a double-bitted axe. Lydian is an extinct Middle Eastern language. The double axe was also an important symbol of the Minoan religion from ancient Crete. Artifacts depict goddesses with a double axe. The axe never accompanies a male god.Â
Scots used a Lochaber axe in battle, which looks quite different from a double axe. Therefore, this Dragon Blade Axe best suits more fantasy-based costumes or decor, rather than historically accurate Scottish ones.
