Homespun Wool Tartan Yardage in Over 100 Different Tartans

Bring authenticity and old-world charm to your next Celtic creation with our Homespun Wool Blend Tartan. Hand-woven on traditional looms, this fabric offers the rustic look and feel of historical tartan—perfect for crafting Ancient Kilts, Great Kilts, Phillabegs, or any garment designed for reenactments or Highland attire.

Made from a lightweight 10–11 oz wool blend, this tartan surprises with its warmth and durability. Its looser weave and natural imperfections—such as snags, pulls, and minor blemishes—add to its artisanal, handmade character. Sold by the yard and cut to order, this fabric is ideal for anyone seeking a truly traditional look. We recommend ordering a swatch if you’re unsure about color or texture.

I ordered two yards of the homespun tartan for a throw. It arrived quickly, is of excellent quality at less than half the price of all wool, and the colors are vibrant and beautiful. I am impressed with the customer service and great range of products by this company.

I ordered three yards of the wool blend National Tartan to make a custom Christmas tree skirt for our proudly-Irish, difficult-to-buy-for son-in-law. Fabric was beautiful and the consistent plaid made sewing the tree skirt easy. He was satisfyingly surprised and flabbergasted, and our daughter was delighted! It is a prized family heirloom :-) Highly recommend this business -- product quality, shipping, and customer service were all excellent.

This was perfect for making wedding accessories, a less that half the cost of 100% wool.. I am sure I will order more in the future.

Came just as advertised and good quality. Will take a little work to clean up when you get it, but worth the price. If this is for your very first kilt, do NOT get this fabric for a Great Kilt! I've only had this for one day and a great kilt is definitely a pain and a challenge! I'm gonna wear it everyday anyway, but I'm just saying. Will be ordering again.

I ordered this for my teenage son, who's been wanting a homespun tartan for a while. He LOVES it! The material is beautiful and of good quality! He wears it throughout town in Asheville, and it was great at GeekOut convention last weekend. He looks forward to the Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain this summer, as well as taking it along on his school trip to China in June.

Tartan is perfect! We plan on making hankies for the breast pocket of the groomsmen who are too chicken to wear kilts.

I am super excited to be attending the Highland Games in Perthshire this year. My mother and two daughters and I will be visiting Scotland for the first time. The Clark Tartan material is beautiful! Mom is making me a kilt skirt to wear to the Games. Can't wait to sport the family Tartan!!
