I had been looking at getting a utility kilt a few years ago, but at the time the options were solid canvas or Black Watch tartan. I already own a traditional kilt and a full belted plaid, both in Black Watch. When I checked this site again in June I saw they had a hybrid option. This was much more what I was looking for, so I placed an order for one in black canvas with Murray of Athol tartan. I wanted something that could be worn semi-formal or day-to-day, without being too flashy. I'm very pleased with the finished product. The fit is exactly as I prefer. The pockets are large enough to hold everything I need, and if I want to get dressy my black leather sporran becomes an accessory rather than a necessity. I ordered this from Canada on June 8 and it arrived on my doorstep on August 11. Very good turnover for a made-to-measure kilt.
