Simple Kilt Pin

We carry this simple kilt pin for our customers that love tradition and classic accessories. At the same time, this kilt pin doubles as a giant safety pin that punk rockers love to wear on pants, hats, shirts, and even as body piercings! Although, we recommend using it on your clothes and not as a piercing. This pin comes from Scotland, which insures good quality and authenticity as a Scottish Highland accessory. This pin measures 2.5″ long.

What is this thing?

It’s a piece of jewelry that is worn on the lower corner of the outer apron of a kilt. It adds weight to the outer apron, this prevents the apron from blowing open and showing off too much leg (there can only be one Marilyn Monroe). It does not connect the apron to the inner fabric, and only pins to the apron to provide some weight. Kilt pins are also seen as a form of decoration, therefore pick a pin that represents who you are!

Highlanders purchased expensive kilt pins in order to show off their level of wealth. If you find this simple pin too simple, we offer many more ornate kilt pins. For example, you might love our grouse kilt pin or our Viking Cornish pewter kilt pin. These two pins have some of the most ornamentation of the pins we offer. The grouse claw pin features two colored crystals (you have 3 color options: green, red, and blue), and a hand cast pewter grouse claw. The Viking pin resembles the original silver artwork on display at the Museum of Northern Antiquities in Copenhagen. Found on the Isle of Bjorko, Sweden, it is a true representation of early Scandinavian art in the 9th century AD and has an oriental influence.
