What is a Great Kilt?
The Great Kilt (féileadh mòr) is the classic, full-length Highland garment dating back to the 16th century. Traditionally pleated by hand with each wear, it is made from 6–10 yards of fabric about 54–60 inches wide. The extra fabric above the belt can be draped over the shoulder, used as a hood, wrapped as a cloak, or even spread out as a blanket. Warm, protective, and dramatic, the Great Kilt is a timeless expression of Highland heritage.
