Description
A sporran is a pouch that is a key part of traditional Scottish Highland dress and is worn with a kilt to hold personal items. The word “sporran” comes from the Gaelic word scrip, which means “purse”. Sporrans originated in the Scottish Islands or Ireland as a way to store food and other valuable items. Over time, their purpose evolved to include carrying ammunition and rations for soldiers, and swatting away flies from food. Today, sporrans are used to store items like cash, keys, and mobile phones.

All my Highland Dress was missing was a classy sporran fit the bill perfectly. I wore my Highland Dress to a wedding got tons of compliments. This is going to be my “go to” formal wear and this piece completes the outfit (plus, does a great job of holding my stuff since kilts don’t traditionally have pockets (-: )
